Pumpkin thank you cards

My mom and aunt got together and made us these beautiful fabric pumpkins (I can't get a good picture of them for some reason, the colors are much richer in person!), they gave us (my siblings and I) however many we wanted- I just love them!  My aunt is dealing with breast cancer right now so my mom has been getting together with her to work on fun projects to keep her mind off of it - they both love to quilt anyway - but they are trying other crafts as well, I just wish I lived closer so I could play too!  :-)  But it means so much to us that she used the little energy she has to make us something special!  So I wanted to send them both a thank you note, to tell them just how much we appreciate the pumpkins that are decorating our table for fall!!

I used Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons for the pumpkins, DCWV 'Amber Autumn' stack for the printed paper, the cardstock was from my stash, DCWV card bases, ribbon from American Crafts and CTMH 'Thank You' set for the sentiment stamps.

Follow your dreams...

I wasn't liking this card as I was making it but I kept with it and now that its all done, I love it!!  I showed my husband last night and his response was WOW :-), so that definitely made me feel better that I kept going and worked at it until I was happy with it!  I think it will make a perfect graduation card to keep in my card stash!

I used Locker Talk for the books, but because of the layering on the cart, I had to cut the books 4 times to be able to make them all different colors - I'm glad I did because I really like the way it looks.  I used Tim Holtz 'Pumice Stone' distress ink to ink them and make them look worn.  The card base is DCWV, the yellow star paper is from DCWV 'All About Boys' stack and the rest of the cardstock is from my stash.  I used a Martha Stewart punch on the bottom of the blue cardstock, twine from The Twinery and the sentiment stamp (inside & out) is from CTMH.

Have the Hoppy-Est Birthday!

I made this card for my niece's 3rd birthday, thought it was perfect for her spunky personality!

Instead of an envelope, I thought I would do something different and attach ribbon to the back and tie it to keep it closed, then she can untie it to read the inside! So it serves as his collar as well as an open/close on the card! :)

I used cardstock from my scrap pile and the ribbon I found in my stash - its hard to see in the picture but it has black, pink and green stripes, so it matched perfectly!

The frog is from Create A Critter cricut cart, the sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Buggy Punnies' and the inside sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I used my gypsy to weld two frogs together to form the card base then I cut another one in green to make the card front and another one in pink to make the inside pretty!

1st Birthday thank you cards

In keeping with the farm animal theme, I used the cow from Pop-Up Neighborhood again for the thank you cards.  The cards are 4.25 x 4.25, made with cardstock from my stash.  The grass is also cut from Pop-Up Neighborhood and the sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper.

Just a simple piece of white cardstock on the inside so I could write the notes.

I made a 4.5 x 4.5 envelope using my MS scoreboard (not picured).  I finished making the envelopes and writing them out last night while I watched a movie with my husband after the boys were in bed, so just need to address them and get them in the mail first thing in the morning!

Don't forget to stop by Chris' blog Get Inspired With Chatterscene to become a follower of hers and help her reach her 500 follower goal!  When she gets there, she's giving away a Luau Cricut cart!  She's amazingly talented with paper crafts as well as other projects and now she's doing blog makeovers - mine is a perfect example of her beautiful work!  Go here for details on getting your own blog made over!

Criss cross card

When I saw this type of card as a challenge on Birthday Sundaes, I knew I wanted to try it.  I missed the challenge with all the birthday activities over the weekend and only was able to get the card half done but I finished it yesterday during naptime and do love the way it turned out.

I did it a little differently, I didn't put the band across the outer part, I couldn't get it to look right with the gems I did down the center, so I left it off but I still think it looks pretty good!

The pieces of the card and base were all cut using my paper trimmer, the flower and tag on inside card are from CTMH Art Philosophy.  The hemp and sentiment stamp are both from CTMH.  The print paper is from DCWV 'The Green Stack' and the cardstock is all from my stash.  The gems I attached using my i rock.

1st Birthday banner

I got this done last week, but we had a lot of overcast, rainy days last week so I wasn't able to get to take a good picture until today - its nice to finally see the sun though the rain was nice for a few days, we really needed it!  My son's 1st birthday party was yesterday, so its a relief to be done with that because they are always so much work with cleaning the house, making and decorating all the party goodies, then decorating - but it was a fun day, I always love to be surrounded by family and friends!!

Here's his banner!

And a few close-ups...I used Pop-Up Neighborhood again for the horse, cow, tractor and chicken coop, Robotz for the font and shadow and Country Life for the banner pennants.

All the cardstock was Recollections - LOVE this cardstock!

I used blue cardstock with a green shadow and Denimn twine from The Twinery to string the banner.  Then I inked the edges of the pennants with green ink!

Now I just have to figure out the thank you notes and get those made in the next day or two, so I can get them in the mail!

First day of Preschool LO!

Crayon wreath

I made this wreath for my son's preschool teacher - I didn't get it done before Meet the Teacher night last night but his first day isn't until Tuesday, so I will get it wrapped up and we can take it along with her card, to her that morning!

My son's class is the Busy Bees, so I used the bee from the 9 Months Lite cart, the glue, scissors, and crayon are all from Locker Talk cart and I can't remember where I ended up finding the font!  The ribbon and paper was all in my stash, the hoops (6" and 8") I picked up from Michaels and the crayons I had in my school supply box!

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

I first saw a similar wreath on Amber's blog - as soon as I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for my son's teacher to hang on her classroom door! Thanks so much Amber for the inspiration!

Ladybugs everywhere!!

I made these thank you cards for a friend - she needs them for her daughter's first birthday, which is ladybug themed!  The ladybug is from Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons cart (I left out the middle layer) and the card base is from Wild Card cart.  The cardstock I got at Hobby Lobby and I used a stamp from the dollar bins at Michaels to make the polka dots!

I gave a sneak peek on here a couple of weeks ago when I started making them, but for these, the sentiment is on the inside and I made it using a stamps from My Pink Stamper set 'Buggy Punnies' and one from CTMH 'Thank You' - I wasn't sure it would look ok with the 2 differnt fonts but I love the way it turned out!

She needed 24 total, they were time consuming but I do love the way they turned out and she was so happy with them, so it was worth it!

The envelope was also from Wild Card cart, then I stamped a small flower in the corner - I wish I had a ladybug stamp but didn't, so figured a flower would work!

My Teacher

My son starts preschool in 2 weeks, so I made his teacher a card last night, that he can "sign" to tell her how excited he is for the start of the new year!  I'm also making her a gift to go with it, that I'm hoping to finish up this weekend - so you will be seeing that soon!

I love using primary colors when it comes to school cards/LOs, all the paper for this card were from my stash!  I used Locker Talk for the 'My Teacher' sign and CTMH Art Philosophy for the card base and front/inside layers - I LOVE this cart!  I embossed the front layer with my Cuttlebug using the Cuttlebug embossing folder 'Traffic Jam.'  I wanted to add some twine but I didn't have the right color - it will be here soon though, with the order I placed for their newest colors that I couldn't resist over the weekend!  :-)

And when I went to make an envelope to go with it, I realized that even though I have my 12x24 mat to make bigger envelopes, I don't have any 12x24 cardstock - oops!  So I will add that to my list of things to get so I can get an envelope made soon for this card!  I had intended to stamp the inside of the card and the envelope with a small apple but I didn't have one - so I will either cut one with my cricut or see if I can get lucky and find an apple stamp in the dollar bin at Michael's!

I left the inside blank so we could write a message to his teacher and he could sign it!

Happy 1st Birthday - take two!

My sister has twins, a boy and a girl, who will turn 1 in October - I made his card last week and made hers on Sunday night!
I used two of my new carts - Baby Steps (cupcake) and CTMH Art Philosophy (card base and inside/outside layers).  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper 'Sweet Baby' set.  The paper is all from my stash and the ribbon is from American Crafts.

The inside sentiment is from Hero Arts 'Cupcake' set.

I cut the flower twice to give it more dimension and adhered the top one with pop dots!

I stamped a cupcake on the envelope (also cut from CTMH Art Philosophy) from the same set as the inside sentiment Hero Arts 'Cupcake.'

I'm entering this card into some challenges...

Couple of cupcake birthday cards

I made a couple of birthday cards yesterday, one for my aunt and a second for my card stash - very similar using the same paper but different - how's that for a description!!  :-)

I used Doodlecharms for the cupcake, its been awhile since I used that cart so it was fun to have it out again though I don't really like how the layers are on it, so I did it the way I wanted to and used the hide contour feature on my Gypsy so I didn't have to cut a bunch of unnecessary pieces and waste paper!  All the paper except the card bases and light purple solid card stock (they are from DCWV) is from Cosmo Cricket 'DeLovely' stack.  The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts 'Birthday Messages' set.  I used my i rock to put the sprinkles on the cupcakes and my Fiskars Corner Rounder punch on the second card.

Little ears, little nose, little fingers, little toes...

**Go here for my 100 follower challenge/giveaway!!**

I made this baby card for a friend's baby shower - I love the way it turned out!  I used my DCWV 'Baby Boy' stack for all the paper, except the clouds -they were plain white cardstock that I inked the edges on.  The plane, clouds and banner were cut from New Arrival Cricut cart.  I used my Sew Easy to stitch around the edges.  The sentiment stamps were all from My Pink Stamper 'Sweet Baby' set!

I'm entering this in the Cricut 360º Challenge #5 - Transportation.  I saw this plane when I was looking for baby diecuts and thought it was perfect for the challenge as well as highlighting the sentiment stamp I wanted to use, using the banner!
