Thank You card

Hello!  Today is my day to post at The Bug Bytes,  I have another thank you card to show you that I made to send out to a friend to thank her for my birthday gift!

I based it on the sketch below from Scrapbook Steals for Monday Card Madness #79 - I'm really starting to love these sketches and can whip up a card in no time using them!!
I used no machine on this one!  I cut the banner piece with my own two hands, just by folding the end in half and clipping it off! ;)  I cut the chevon piece from the paper itself, just following along the pattern in the paper, which was from Recollections 'Bold Basics' stack.  I used the Seeing Spots embossing folder on the green cardstock, which is from my stash.  I stamped the sentiment, from The Stamps of Life 'mums2stamp', onto a piece of chipboard that came with the elements pack that coordinates with my CTMH Art Philosophy cart, then inked the edges.  Added a few buttons from my stash to pull in the yellow from the print paper and its done!

I finished off the inside with a piece of paper from the same stack as above, that matches the banner piece from the front and a piece of white cardstock to write my message on!

I'm also entering this one into Chris' Just Elements challenge #3 at Get Inspired with Chatter Scene.  Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your Monday!!

Thanks card

I made this card for my MIL, she sent me a beautiful pot of tulips for my birthday a couple of weeks ago.

The scalloped circle is from the chipboard elements that came with my CTMH Art Philosophy bundle - I stamped the coordinating stamp right onto it.  I used a DCWV card base and the paper is from Me & My Big Ideas 'Pastel' mat pad.  I added a piece of brown ribbon as well as pink twine from The Twinery over a piece of coordinating paper from the same mat pad, that I rounded the corners on with a punch.  Simple and pretty - exactly what I needed!

Thank ewe card

I made this card for my parents, to thank them for my birthday gift last month.  They told us this weekend that they are buying all the grandkids a couple of sheep to keep on their farm!  Pretty soon, these kids are going to have a whole farm full of animals - the sheep will be joining the pony they bought them last fall and who knows what will be next!  ;-)

So I figured it was fitting to use the My Little Shoebox 'Simple Life' collection to make their card - I was dying to use the sheep stamps as well as the fun farm paper!  Everything on this card (minus the ribbon-that was from my stash and the card base is DCWV) was from that collection - I stamped the sheep onto one of the included elements then inked the edges.  Then made the sentiment using the mini alphas from the kit!

I'm entering this card into Chris' Just Elements Challenge #2 at Get Inspired with Chatter Scene - this card came together very quickly since I didn't use my Cricut machines - I'm really loving these challenges and that they are getting outside of my comfort zone to use something other then the Cricut machines I love!

Walking for babies LO

I made this LO using the 5 Little Ducks collection from Piggy Tales (paper and cardboard letters) - I wasn't sure about using flowers on a LO for my son but I really liked this paper and with it only showing on the sides, I figured it would work and since my mom, sister and I were also on there - I could get away with using the other flowers!  ;-)

The flowers are from Imaginesce - I layered them together, used brads as the flower centers and a Martha Stewart punch for the right side of the green paper.

I made this LO based on the March challenge sketch from Love Joy Paper.  I really enjoyed using this sketch!  My title ended up being huge due to the size of the letters but I really wanted to use them so I think it worked out ok even though it varied from the sketch!

I'm also entering this into the Just Elements! Challenge #1 at Get Inspired with Chatter Scene!  Chris read my mind with it, challenging us to not use our machines and use only the elements that we all have in our scrap rooms but tend to ignore because we all love to use our die cutting machines!  With reorganizing my scrap room lately, I'm finding more and more fun things I have to use but never do - such as the letters that matched this paper when I would normally cut letters with my Cricut as well as the flowers, which I haven't used in ages!  Thanks Chris for the fun challenge and getting me out of my comfort zone!!  :-)

Spaceship birthday card

One of my good friend's son/my oldest's best friend, is turning 4 this month, so I made this card for him!

All the paper is from DCWV - the print paper from 'All About Boys' stack, the cardstock from 'Amber Autumn' and 'Neutrals' cardstock stacks.  I designed the colors in the card around the background paper - I love it!  The spaceship is from B is for Boy cricut cartridge, the sentiment stamp on the outside is from My Pink Stamper 'Fabulous Phrases' set, the inside is from Hero Arts 'Birthday Messages' set and the spaceship stamp is from CTMH.  I inked everything using my Powder Puff chalking inks from Quick Quotes - love that ink!

I stamped the same spaceship stamp on the envelope in the green ink that I inked the card with.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Get Inspired with Chatter Scene - Magazine Inspired challenge
Bitten By The Bug 2 -  Masculine/boy themed Cricut project
Little Scrap Pieces - Copy Cat Friday Challenge: Anything Goes

My card was inspired by this card in Paper Crafts magazine- March/April 2011 edition.

Have a great weekend!

Love

I made this card for my brother and SILs anniversary today, they are celebrating 6 yrs together!

I used the Ambrosia stack by Basic Grey - I do love that stack, the colors are gorgeous, perfect for fall! The card base is from DCWV.  The heart was cut from CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cart and I used the coordinating stamp on it (the heart and squares underneath look blue in the picture but they are actully grey - not sure why they look different because all the other colors look right). The 'love' stamp is from CTMH.

I used my new d stress tool from Imaginesce to distress the edges of the small squares, the heart and the orange rectangle in the middle. I used my Quick Quotes chalking ink to ink everything and once again, I'm so glad I got these inks- I love them! Then I used my Sew Easy to stitch the heart on the card, I'm really not liking it the more I use it, so I think I'm going to pull out my sewing machine and start using that instead - its been about 10 yrs since I used it, so I'll have to re-familiarize myself with it!

I layed two of the same papers on the inside, inked them and I used a stamp from My Pink Stamper 'Happiest Moments' as well a heart stamp from CTMH.  I used the same heart on the corner of the envelope.

I was inspired by this card in Paper Crafts magazine, July/August 201 issue!

I'm entering this into the Magazine Inspired challege at Get Inspired with Chatter Scene.  There's still time to enter, so head over there to check out the details!

Chris is also hosting another challenge, to cut fabric with your cricut!  Go here for details!

Thinking of You Today!

I made this for a friend to let her know that I'm thinking about her.  I'm entering it in the April Showers challenge at Get Inspired With Chatter Scene.
I used a DCWV card base and some paper from my stash.  I cut the chick and umbrella from Create A Critter Cricut cartridge at 2.5 inches.  The cloud and rain drops are also from Create A Critter, cut at 2 inches.  The face stamp is from Peachy Keen 'Critter Faces Set A Medium' and I colored it in using Stampin Up 'Stampin Write' markers and 'Stampin Pastels'.  The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Fabulous Phrases'.  I used my Sizzix 'Winter' and Cuttlebug 'Divine Swirl' embossing folders with my Cuttlebug for the embossing on umbrella and cloud.  The ribbon is from American Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by!
