Birthday Wishes card

I made this birthday card for my friend Chris last month for her birthday!  I used the Citrus stack from DCWV and this sketch from the ScrapbookSteals blog.

I used the CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cart to cut the flower and I offset the layers to give it more dimension. I cut a tag using the matching die to the My Creative Time 'Teeny Tag Greetings" stamp set, such a fun set that I treated myself to recently!  I tied the sentiment tag on using CTMH Hemp.

I finished off the inside using more of the same printed paper from the outside and a sentiment stamp from CTMH!

ScrapbookSteals blog hop!!

Good morning and welcome to the June ScrapbookSteals blog hop!!  You should be coming from Becky's blog - if you just happened upon our hop, please go back to the beginning here so you don't miss out!!

I was thrilled to be picked to be a part of this blog hop, I am a very loyal ScrapbookSteals shopper - I love the quick shipping and vast variety of scrapbooking supplies offered!  And it doesn't hurt that they post steals twice a day now, at 10a and 10p (CST) - so two times a day to find great deals and expand your stash of scrapbooking supplies!!

We were all given American Crafts Glitter Tape to use on our projects today - I have to admit, I was very intimidated by this product!!  I racked my brain, trying to come up with a good use for it!  I don't often use glitter in my projects, so I wasn't sure what to do with it and still stay true to my usual style!  But at the same time, it was a challenge to think outside the box and make something I wouldn't normally!!

I ended up making cards, several different types, trying to highlight this fun product!!

The first one is a birthday card for my niece - she's having a swimming party for her birthday, so what a perfect summer theme - popsicles!!  I used pops2eat stamp set from The Stamps of Life - I lined up 4 rows of the glitter tape on cardstock then stamped the popsicle stamp on it and cut it out - it worked perfectly!  Then I stamped the popsicle sticks onto the kraft cardstock base, added a banner piece of printed paper that I hand cut, then tied some twine in pink and green to match the popsicles, then stamped a sentiment from the same pops2eat stamp set!

For the inside, I stamped popsicles, again from the pops2eat set and a birthday sentiment from birthday2celebrate, then attached the cardstock using 2 pieces of the glitter tape!!

I was really happy how this card turned out and according to my husband (I was working so couldn't go to her party), her card was a huge hit with her and all the moms at the party - so that's always great to hear!!  :-)

I made a thank you card, using the gold glitter tape as flower centers!  I attached several rows of the glitter tape to a piece of cardstock, then used a circle punch to punch it out.  Then I used 2 different colors of twine to make the flower petals.  I stamped the stems using stamps from the mums2stamp set, the thank you sentiment was from the same set.

I tore a piece of green cardstock to serve as the grass and tied another pice of twine around the card base!

For my next card, I made a get well card for my stash.  I used this fantastic sketch from Monday Card Madness on the ScrapbookSteals blog - you will definitely be seeing cards from me often using this   sketch - I had so much fun with it!!  There's always SO much in the way of scrapbooking ideas and  inspiration on the SS blog, the sketches have helped me get so much scrapbooking and card making done lately!

I used the Latte stack from DCWV, such pretty colors in this stack!!  I used more twine, tied on a button and attached a get well tag from my stash.  The glitter tape added some subtle but cheery bling to this card, some sparkle but not too much!

I used another piece of the glitter tape on the inside, to tie it all together!

And here's my final card, using the same sketch as above!  I made a birthday card for my brother, using the A Boy's Life stack from Echo Park, twine and a button and tag from my stash and a sentiment stamp from Hero Arts.  The gold glitter tape definitely added a lot to this card, it gave it some sparkle but not too much because I don't think my brother would appreciate that!  :-)

I hope you enjoyed my cards today, next you'll be headed to Maya's blog to see what fun projects she has for you today!  And here's the entire lineup in case you get lost along the way!!

Make a Wish birthday card

Here's a card I made for my niece's birthday, using the April Sketch For You To Try from I Heart 2 Stamp - such a fun sketch and I really love the way my card came out!

Here's the sketch...

And my card!  I used a stack from My Mind's Eye 'All Spice' - I just love the colors in this one!  I cut the butterfly from the Cricut Cake Birthday Cakes cart, then attached it using an action wobble to make it interactive for her!

I cut the wings twice, to give it more dimension.  The inside and outside sentiments are from The Stamps of Life 'HappyBday2You' set, the ribbon is from my stash.

Birthday Wishes card

Good afternoon!  I made this card for my best friend's birthday last weekend, her favorite color is purple, so when I saw the polka dot paper in my Bold Basics stack by Recollections, I knew I had to use it for her card!!  I love these shades of green and purple together!

I based my card on the sketch below, from Scrapbook Steals Monday Card Madness #78 - I loved this sketch and will definitely be using it again!  My card came together so quickly using it!
Here's my card!  I used my new stamps from The Stamps of Life 'birthday2celebrate' set - both the sentiment and the gift were from that set.  The buttons were from my stash, as well as the cardstock I used to make the card base with.  I cut the banner shape out by hand and the scalloped circle is from the chipboard elements that came with my Art Philosophy bundle.

A side view so you can see the dimension!

Here's the inside - I used the same polka dot paper as well as a piece of white cardstock so I can write my message.  The sentiment stamp is from the same set that I used above.

I stamped the envelope with a stamp from the 'greetings4birthday'  - another set from The Stamps of Life.

Have a great Thursday!

Mum birthday card

I have another birthday card to share with you today, using some of my new The Stamps of Life stamps!  I have been anxious to make this mums but had to wait until I got my new ink in, it came this week so I was able to finally play last night and I love the way they turned out!

I used cardstock from my stash for this card, the ribbon behind the sentiment is also from my stash.  Both the mum/stem stamps as well as the sentiment stamp are from The Stamps of Life sets - 'mums2stamp' and 'greetings4birthday'.

Here's the inside, using the same cardstock as on the outside.  The sentiment stamp is from The Stamps of Life 'birthday to celebrate'.

I based this card on the following sketch from Mojo Monday.

I'm entering it the Paper Playtime challenge #72: Say it with Sentiments theme birthday card .

Hope you have a relaxing Sunday!

Birthday Wishes cards

Good morning!  I have a couple of birthday cards to share with you today!

I based them on the Scrapbook Steals Monday Card Madness sketch - funny story about my take on this sketch!  As you can see, I only copied the sketch on the left side...for some reason, my printer printed the sketch really big and it only printed the left side!  I had no idea until I went to post this and added the sketch and saw that there was a whole other part to it that I didn't know about!  So that explains why you are only seeing the left side of the sketch represented on my cards!  ;-)

The balloons were cut from Simply Charmed cricut cart, the sentiment stamp is from The Stamps of Life 'birthday2celebrate', the patterned papers are all from the Recollections 'Bold Basics' stack, the cardstock and buttons from my stash and the twine is from The Twinery.

I popped the balloons up with pop dots, as you an see from the picture below, to make them look like they are flying off the card!  :-)

Just a simple piece of white cardstock, inked with yellow around the edges, on the inside where I can write my message!

Here's the 2nd card, just the patterned paper on the balloons and banner piece is different!

I'm entering these into a couple of challenges...
My Craft Spot Monday challenge #52: Make it Pop!
Scrapbook Steals Monday Card Madness #80
Bitten by the Bug 2: birthday card using balloons

Enjoy your weekend!  We have a yummy pancake breakfast at my son's preschool this morning, can't wait for that!  :-)

More birthday cards

Here's another set of cards I made using the Thumbellina collection from Piggy Tales, the sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Punny-licious' and the twine from The Twinery.  I cut the bird from the Cricut Cake 'Birthday Cakes' cart.

 Here's the second one...
The inside stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Everyday Life', both card insides are the same...
I used the same sketch that I used on my cards yesterday...

A few birthday cards

I made these using the Thumbellina collection from Piggy Tales, I love these pattern papers and they are perfect for birthday cards since I don't have any girls to scrapbook for!

I made 2 variations of the same card, I'm trying to build up my stash of cards!  I used the Cricut Cake cart 'Birthday Cakes' to cut the tulips and based them on this sketch!
Here's the first card.  The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Everyday Life', the twine is from The Twinery and the ribbon on the second card is from my stash.

The inside of both cards are the same...the sentiment stamp is also from My Pink Stamper 'Everyday Life'.

I'm entering these cards into Challenge Me Monday #103 at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog - Celebrate Spring (make a project with at least three flowers).

Birthday card

I made this card for my SILs birthday, I used my new DCWV Citrus and Citrus cardstock stacks that I got for Christmas, I love these colors!  With this beautiful weather we've been having, I can't help but be in the mood for spring!

For some reason, the lighting on this card didn't come out quite as bright as it really is in person - I think taking the pictures at the time of day I did (4:30p), didn't help but hopefully you get the general idea.

The flower was cut from CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cart - I cut it a couple of different times in different colors of cardstock to give it dimension and mimic the flowers in the paper, the ribbon and button are from my stash and the sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Fabulous Phrases.'

The inside sentiment is from Stampin' Up 'Curvy Verses.'

I'm entering this into Krafty Girls Get Growing Challenge #3 - create a project using a handmade flower.

Happy Birthday!

I made this card for my dad's birthday tomorrow!
Once again I struggled with making a masculine card and not knowing where to start.  So I picked out the paper from Echo Park's 'A Boy's Life' and then picked the truck from Pop-Up Neighborhood cricut cart.  Then I got the idea to stamp the balloons, cut them out and then tie them to the truck with twine from The Twinery!  I really love the way this turned out!

The balloon stamps as well as the sentiment stamps were from The Stamps of Life 'greetings4birthday' and 'HappyBday2You' - I do love these stamps, they stamp perfectly and have fun sentiments!

Its hard to see in the picture but I used glossy accents on the truck's window to make it look more real!
I'm entering this into Challenge #46 at Birthday Sundaes:  Birthday card with sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!  I unfortunately, will be working the next 3 nights, so not much fun for me!  ;-)

A true friend...

I made this card for a friend's birthday, it was yesterday so I'm a little late but she's a busy mom too, so she understands!  ;-)

I used the Stamps of Life cupcake die as well as greetings4birthday and HappyBday2You stamp sets.  I used the Jillibean Soup 'Dutch Mustard Soup' stack for all the paper, the cardstock for the base, the ribbon and the button were all from my stash.

Happy Leap day!!

'Did you know...' birthday card

I made this card for my mom's birthday yesterday - I recently re-discovered The Stamps of Life stamp company and fell in love!  I purchased their cupcake die set as well as the coordinating stamps, which is what I used for this card - it was cricut-less!  I used Echo Park 'Country Drive' 6x6 stack for all the paper in this card.

I tied my bow using my Bow Easy - I still need practice but I don't think it turned out too bad!

I added a strip of paper that I used on the cupcake frosting and the inside sentiment, again from The Stamps of Life and its done!

Today is my oldest's birthday, so we have a fun day of celebrating him planned after he gets out of preschool, so I wanted to sneak this post in before he wakes up!  Thanks for stopping by!

Circle birthday card

I saw a card a long time ago that inspired my card today, I wish I knew who made it so I could give them proper credit!  I've always loved it and wanted to make one but hadn't yet - I'm glad I did because I love how this turned out!

I punched out a bunch of 1 inch circles using a punch and my new Jillibean Soup 'Blossom Soup' stack, then I adhered them onto a DCWV card base - simple but fun!!  I then used my Cricut and my CTMH 'Art Philosophy' cart to cut out the tag, used a couple of buttons to dress up the tag and then stamped a sentiment using Pink By Design 'Scripted Year'.  Viola!  A birthday card for my MIL!

I guess I forgot to take a picture of the inside because I can't find it anywhere (it was almost 2a and I was tired!) - but I used a strip of the floral paper on the bottom and then stamped a sentiment in the middle!

I'm entering this into Birthday Sundaes Challenge #38 - Birthday Card Challenge (create a birthday card and include a birthday sentiment on the front).

Have a great weekend!

Spaceship birthday card

One of my good friend's son/my oldest's best friend, is turning 4 this month, so I made this card for him!

All the paper is from DCWV - the print paper from 'All About Boys' stack, the cardstock from 'Amber Autumn' and 'Neutrals' cardstock stacks.  I designed the colors in the card around the background paper - I love it!  The spaceship is from B is for Boy cricut cartridge, the sentiment stamp on the outside is from My Pink Stamper 'Fabulous Phrases' set, the inside is from Hero Arts 'Birthday Messages' set and the spaceship stamp is from CTMH.  I inked everything using my Powder Puff chalking inks from Quick Quotes - love that ink!

I stamped the same spaceship stamp on the envelope in the green ink that I inked the card with.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Get Inspired with Chatter Scene - Magazine Inspired challenge
Bitten By The Bug 2 -  Masculine/boy themed Cricut project

My card was inspired by this card in Paper Crafts magazine- March/April 2011 edition.

Have a great weekend!
