Birthday Wishes cards

Good morning!  I have a couple of birthday cards to share with you today!

I based them on the Scrapbook Steals Monday Card Madness sketch - funny story about my take on this sketch!  As you can see, I only copied the sketch on the left side...for some reason, my printer printed the sketch really big and it only printed the left side!  I had no idea until I went to post this and added the sketch and saw that there was a whole other part to it that I didn't know about!  So that explains why you are only seeing the left side of the sketch represented on my cards!  ;-)

The balloons were cut from Simply Charmed cricut cart, the sentiment stamp is from The Stamps of Life 'birthday2celebrate', the patterned papers are all from the Recollections 'Bold Basics' stack, the cardstock and buttons from my stash and the twine is from The Twinery.

I popped the balloons up with pop dots, as you an see from the picture below, to make them look like they are flying off the card!  :-)

Just a simple piece of white cardstock, inked with yellow around the edges, on the inside where I can write my message!

Here's the 2nd card, just the patterned paper on the balloons and banner piece is different!

I'm entering these into a couple of challenges...
My Craft Spot Monday challenge #52: Make it Pop!
Scrapbook Steals Monday Card Madness #80
Bitten by the Bug 2: birthday card using balloons

Enjoy your weekend!  We have a yummy pancake breakfast at my son's preschool this morning, can't wait for that!  :-)

Thanks card

I made this card for my MIL, she sent me a beautiful pot of tulips for my birthday a couple of weeks ago.

The scalloped circle is from the chipboard elements that came with my CTMH Art Philosophy bundle - I stamped the coordinating stamp right onto it.  I used a DCWV card base and the paper is from Me & My Big Ideas 'Pastel' mat pad.  I added a piece of brown ribbon as well as pink twine from The Twinery over a piece of coordinating paper from the same mat pad, that I rounded the corners on with a punch.  Simple and pretty - exactly what I needed!

I'm entering it into Chris' Just Elements challenge #3 at Get Inspired with Chatterscene.

More birthday cards

Here's another set of cards I made using the Thumbellina collection from Piggy Tales, the sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Punny-licious' and the twine from The Twinery.  I cut the bird from the Cricut Cake 'Birthday Cakes' cart.

 Here's the second one...
The inside stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Everyday Life', both card insides are the same...
I used the same sketch that I used on my cards yesterday...

A few birthday cards

I made these using the Thumbellina collection from Piggy Tales, I love these pattern papers and they are perfect for birthday cards since I don't have any girls to scrapbook for!

I made 2 variations of the same card, I'm trying to build up my stash of cards!  I used the Cricut Cake cart 'Birthday Cakes' to cut the tulips and based them on this sketch!
Here's the first card.  The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Everyday Life', the twine is from The Twinery and the ribbon on the second card is from my stash.

The inside of both cards are the same...the sentiment stamp is also from My Pink Stamper 'Everyday Life'.

I'm entering these cards into Challenge Me Monday #103 at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog - Celebrate Spring (make a project with at least three flowers).

Mama & me LO

I made a LO tonight based on the sketch below and will be entering it into the Mid Week Mojo challenge -Amethyst #3 on the Scrapbook Steals blog.  I do love this sketch, it was perfect for a favorite picture of mine of my oldest and I!

Here's the sketch...
And here's my LO!  Once again, sorry for the poor lighting, another late night scrapbook session, after working all weekend!  I was proud of myself, this LO came together pretty quickly for me!  :-)  Excuse the creepy distortion on my son's face - I don't like putting their pictures on public websites so I used the distortion so you could still (sort of) see the picture!
Some closeups...I used Piggy Tales once again, 'Tortoise and the Hare' collection this time - I just had paper for this one and had to use some cardstock from my stash, so I used CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cart to cut the die cuts then I inked everything using my chalk inks.

I used thickers and mini alphas for the titles, The Twinery twine to string my banner and some brads from my stash to hold it on the page (it is pulled a little tight in this picture but it does droop down a bit more instead of being so straight across now that I fixed it - just didn't see it when I was taking pics).
The phrases are from the same mini alpha line then the 'moments'  one was a sticker I found in my stash.  I cut the flower 3 times, inked the edges and then offset them and curled the edges to make it look fuller and finished it with some bling using my iRock gem setter.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday!

I made this card for my dad's birthday tomorrow!
Once again I struggled with making a masculine card and not knowing where to start.  So I picked out the paper from Echo Park's 'A Boy's Life' and then picked the truck from Pop-Up Neighborhood cricut cart.  Then I got the idea to stamp the balloons, cut them out and then tie them to the truck with twine from The Twinery!  I really love the way this turned out!

The balloon stamps as well as the sentiment stamps were from The Stamps of Life 'greetings4birthday' and 'HappyBday2You' - I do love these stamps, they stamp perfectly and have fun sentiments!

Its hard to see in the picture but I used glossy accents on the truck's window to make it look more real!
I'm entering this into Challenge #46 at Birthday Sundaes:  Birthday card with sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!  I unfortunately, will be working the next 3 nights, so not much fun for me!  ;-)

Sweet Bundle of Joy baby card

My brother and SIL had their baby boy yesterday and we are so excited to meet him, I needed a card to go with his gift and this is what I came up with!!

I used Echo Park's new line 'A Boy's Life' for the cardstock (LOVE this new line!), I cut the onesie from 9 Months cricut cart, then I used My Pink Stamper 'Fabulous Phrases' for the outside sentiment.  I wrapped The Twinery twine around the front to match the ducky on the onesie.

I used Cloud 9 'Simple Thoughts Boy' for the inside sentiment...

I used the baby foot from My Pink Stamper 'Sweet Baby' for the envelope...

Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Valentine's day goodie bags

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I made these goodie bags for my son's valentine's day party today!  I used Simply Charmed for the conversation hearts - putting one of each on each side of the topper!  I used twine from The Twinery as well as cardstock from my stash.  I made 15 total but had already given some to his non-school friends before I took this picture!  Sweet and simple, full of goodies for his preschool class!

My camera wasn't cooperating when I was trying to get a close up picture of the toppers for some reason, thus the semi fuzzy picture below but you get the general idea!  ;-)

I'm entering these into Paper Playtime Challenge #67 - Cricut creations using hearts or a love theme.

Krafty Girls challenge blog is launching today with their first challenge and blog hop - stop by to check it out!  One of my very dear friends Chris of Get Inspired with Chatterscene made their design team and I'm SO happy for her - she's having a great giveaway on her first DT post today!  I can't wait to participate in their fun challenges!

Believe in the Magic

I didn't manage to get too many Christmas cards made this year, time just didn't allow it and I had to let some things go and unfortunately, that meant my cards.  I have high hopes for next year though and hope to get an early start on them - if the stars align, I plan to start next week with some new Christmas stamps and paper I got in the mail from my friend Chris!  :-)

But I did make a few for my scrappy friends as well as some to serve as thank you notes for family members who gave us gifts but we were unable to thank in person due to our boys being sick and us missing Christmas with my extended family.  It was as easy as changing the inside sentiment stamp I used - I love it when that happens!  ;-)

The snowman stamp is from CTMH 'Pair-a-Phrase' set and the sentiment stamp is from a set that I won not too long ago and love - Robin's Creative Cottage 'Gingerbread Holiday'.  Both the tags are cut from CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cart, the twine is from The Twinery and the paper/cardstock I had in my stash.

I'm entering this into the following challenges...
*Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog's challenge #94 - Snow Fun  (include a snowflake or snowman on your project)
*Paper Playtime challenge #65 - Tags & include a sentiment (make a tag or include a tag on your project with a sentiment)
*My Craft Spot challenge #41- Snow much fun (snowflakes, snowmen, anything to do with snow)

Happy Friday!

Christmas gift bags

Last month I made Christmas gift bags for the teachers at my son's preschool, he only has one main teacher but since there are only 7 teachers in the school, I decided to make one for each of them since they are all so nice!

I cut the gift bags from CTMH Art Philosophy as well as die cuts for the front of the bags and tags to match!  I used a DCWV Christmas stack (the name escapes me right now...), Provo Craft 12x24 card stock, as well as various embossing folders to give them some texture.  I tied the tags on with twine from The Twinery.  The sentiment stamp is Pink by Design 'Scripted Year'.

Follow your dreams...

I wasn't liking this card as I was making it but I kept with it and now that its all done, I love it!!  I showed my husband last night and his response was WOW :-), so that definitely made me feel better that I kept going and worked at it until I was happy with it!  I think it will make a perfect graduation card to keep in my card stash!

I used Locker Talk for the books, but because of the layering on the cart, I had to cut the books 4 times to be able to make them all different colors - I'm glad I did because I really like the way it looks.  I used Tim Holtz 'Pumice Stone' distress ink to ink them and make them look worn.  The card base is DCWV, the yellow star paper is from DCWV 'All About Boys' stack and the rest of the cardstock is from my stash.  I used a Martha Stewart punch on the bottom of the blue cardstock, twine from The Twinery and the sentiment stamp (inside & out) is from CTMH.

Scary Halloween To You!!

I made a fun Halloween card today - I loved how it turned out!

The spider and spiderweb were cut from Paper Doll Dress Up cricut cart, the tag I cut from CTMH Art Philosophy.  I inked everything using my new Powder Puff chalking inks that I LOVE!  The spider web paper is from DCWV 'Amber Autumn' stack, the cardstock is from Recollections, the twine from The Twinery.  The sentiment stamps on the inside and out are from CTMH, as well as the cat stamp on the inside.

I covered the spider in Liquid Glass from CTMH, it gave it a fun look and made it stand out from the spider web.  I was trying to figure out how to make his eyes, nose and mouth stand out so I tried stickles to fill in those spots - its a little cheesy for my taste but since I will probably give it to my son for Halloween, I don't mind because it makes it a happy spider vs a scary one!

I'm entering this into the Cricut 360º Spooky Halloween Blog Hop and Challenge - it was a fun blog hop where you had to get the key word from each blog along the hop to figure out what the challenge was!

Thanks for stopping by!!  Don't forget about my Halloween blog hop, this Thursday, Oct 27 - it starts here!  Have a great week and I'll see you on Thursday!

Hat thank you card

My parents brought the boys both a hat when they came back from vacation last month - a cowboy hat for my 3 yr old and a fedora for my 1 yr old - they both look adorable in them!  My 3yr old son promptly told them thank you but added "now I need a horse!" - and I found out last night when talking to my mom, that he will soon get his wish, as they are on the hunt for a pony for him to keep at their house!  These boys have them wrapped around their little fingers!!  My parents have an 80 acre farm with horses and cows, which my 3 yr old loves to visit, but all the horses they have now are too big for the kids to ride, so they want to get a pony that is just for the grandkids - they will all be super excited when they find out!

I went fairly simple for this card - both the hats are from Paper Doll Dress Up, the card base and envelope (not shown) are from CTMH Art Philosophy, the sentiment stamps are from the CTMH 'Thank You' set, the twine from The Twinery, the hemp (on the cowboy hat) is from CTMH, and the cardstock is all from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you are having a great weekend!

1st Birthday banner

I got this done last week, but we had a lot of overcast, rainy days last week so I wasn't able to get to take a good picture until today - its nice to finally see the sun though the rain was nice for a few days, we really needed it!  My son's 1st birthday party was yesterday, so its a relief to be done with that because they are always so much work with cleaning the house, making and decorating all the party goodies, then decorating - but it was a fun day, I always love to be surrounded by family and friends!!

Here's his banner!

And a few close-ups...I used Pop-Up Neighborhood again for the horse, cow, tractor and chicken coop, Robotz for the font and shadow and Country Life for the banner pennants.

All the cardstock was Recollections - LOVE this cardstock!

I used blue cardstock with a green shadow and Denimn twine from The Twinery to string the banner.  Then I inked the edges of the pennants with green ink!

Now I just have to figure out the thank you notes and get those made in the next day or two, so I can get them in the mail!
I'm entering this into the Made It Myself Mondays weekly linking party at You Had Me At Craft!
