Happy Anniversary and many more to come!

I made this card for my parents anniversary next week.  I decided to try a larger card, it was new for me since I tend to stick with A2 size cards and it was fun working with a different shape!  :-)
I used 'Cricut Essentials' for the tag and '50 States' for the flowers.  I used DCWV Blossom Song stack for the paper, Stampin Up 'A Word For You' sentiment stamp and American Crafts ribbon.

I'm entering this in the 'Made It Myself Mondays' weekly linking party on You Had Me At Craft, so you should do the same with your projects this week!

Happy Birthday card

I made this card for a friend's birthday this week-I struggle so much with making masculine cards, I need to get a couple of strictly masculine carts, maybe that will help.  But since I don't currently have any, I went the cheesy route and used this cut from my new Just A Note cart!  :-)
I used paper from the DCWV 'Dots, Stripes and Plaids' stack - its perfect for masculine cards!  The sentiment stamp is from The Paper Company 'Happy Birthday' set!

Have a great day!

'I Love You Mom' card

My mom loves to quilt (and is amazing at it!!) so when I saw this diecut on the Country Life cart, I knew I would make it into her mother's day card!  She's always creating special quilts for us and our boys, we treasure them as I know how much hard work goes into it - they are wonderful heirlooms that we'll always have that she made especially for us!

I was having issues with my E2, this was the first project I made with it and they just weren't layering very well - I think it was user error because now that I've adjusted the paper settings, it seems to be fine!  But I like the slightly "off" look, makes me think of an old quilt that's been shown some love and used a lot!  :-)
I used a Martha Stewart punch, DCWV cardstock from the 'Amber Autumn' stack, American Crafts ribbon, Stampin Up ink to ink the edges and a sentiment stamp from Pink By Design 'Our Mothers' set.

I'm submitting this card for the Sew Easy challenge at Getting Cricky with K Andrew - she has challenges every other Sunday and such inspirational posts!  Stop by her blog and say hi!

Happy Mother's Day!

I made this card for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day!
I used the new Just A Note Cricut cartridge on my E2 to make the butterfly.  I used my i-rock and gems to make the swirl.  The ribbon is American Crafts, paper from the 'Amber Autumn' stack by DCWV and the sentiment stamp from My Pink Stamper.

I'm entering this card into the Mother's Day card challenge at Scrapalicious USA - check it out, there's still time to enter!

Darn blogger!!

Well, I stayed up late last night after we put the boys to bed to finish a couple more projects for My Pink Stamper's National Scrapbooking Day challenges, but when I was done and uploading the pictures at 11:15, both blogger and photobucket kept freezing on me and 45 minutes later, submissions closed and I still didn't have any photos uploaded!  I was so upset, I wanted to get a couple more projects in for more chances to win that Imagine but no such luck - so I hope that with the ones I already created, I'll win from those!

This challenge was to create a summer themed project - I decided to make a scrapbook page of my son's first trip to the park when he was a baby (his photos are covered for his privacy)!  Even though I can't submit it for the challenge, I'll still post it on here because I do love how it came out!  :-)  Of course, the picture uploaded in no time this morning...
I used the 'Locker Talk' Cricut cartridge to cut the swingset and slide, then I gave them some dimension using my green Gelly Roll pen.  I used DCWV 'Playtime' Stack for both the base page and the photo mats - I just love this stack!  I used the 'Cricut American Alphabet' Cricut cartridge to cut the title out, I used the negative of the font for the 'at the' part of the title.

Thanks for stopping by!

NSD Challenge #10

This challenge from My Pink Stamper was to make a layout or a card with a pet in it, so I chose to make a layout of my son (I've covered his face for privacy reasons) and our dog Molli!
I used a page from DCWV 'Dots, Stripes & Plaids' stack for the LO base.  I cut the title out of cardstock from my stash using the new 'Cricut American Alphabet' cart on my E2.  The dog was cut from Everyday Paper Dolls, I used my Zig 2 Way glue pen on her nose, to make it shiny and then pop-dotted it to give it some dimension, I thought it was a fun trick I discovered!  :-)  The journaling box was from the Imaginesce 'Dino Roar' collection and the paw print stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Even More Punny-licious' set.

I've been making so many cards lately, so making this layout made me realize how much I miss working on our scrapbooks!  So expect to see more LOs from me very soon, I'm so far behind on the boys' scrapbooks, that I really do need to get busy so I'm not scrapping their newborn pictures when they're in high school!  ;-)

NSD Challenge #12

The final challenge of the day from My Pink Stamper was to make a project that's kid themed and because I have some little boy birthdays coming up this summer, I made a card!

I just got the Cricut cart Boys Will Be Boys and I love this robot cut, so I wanted to use it!  I cut the circles for the stamp from Cricut Essentials.  The card base is Kraft cardstock and the background cardstock is from DCWV 'Playtime' Stack, another current favorite of mine!  The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Boy Crazy' set.

NSD Challenge #11

This challenge from My Pink Stamper was to make a project using pink, green and black!  Since I do have 2 boys, this limits me to making cards (vs a LO) and I have a certain little girl who has a birthday this summer that I made this for - it fits her spunky little personality perfectly!

I'll be honest, I wasn't too sure about the Cricut Decals cart that came with the E2, but I decided to try it and I really like it!!  My husband even said how cute the little girl was and he's always good about giving me his honest (sometimes too much so ;-)) opinion when it comes to my cards!  I cut the flippie floppies (as my son calls them :-)) from the Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons cart - they were small so it took a couple of tries to get it off the mat without ripping it but they're cute, so I'm glad I made them work!  All of the paper and cardstock was from my stash and the sentiment stamp is from Stampin Up 'So Happy For You' set.

NSD Challenge #9

This challenge from My Pink Stamper was to create a project with glitz, glam and glitter!  I don't often get to use a lot of glitz and glam with 2 little boys running around, so it was fun to be able to make a girly card to give to someone!  :-)
I used the Cheerful Seasons Cricut cart to cut the sunglasses and the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cart to cut the purse and hat.  I decorated them using my i-rock and gems as well as my sparkly Gelly Roll pen, the ribbon is from American Crafts!  I used Essentials to cut the scalloped rectangle and stamped the sentiment using the 'Everyday Occasions' set from My Pink Stamper in 'Hollyhock' ink from Close to My Heart.  The background cardstock is from the DCWV 'Blossom Song' stack.

I love how fun and girly this card is - that's the great part about challenges like this, I never would have made this if not for this challenge!  So thanks to Robyn for making me step outside my box!!  :-)

NSD Challenge #4

Its going to get a little out of order now, since I've skipped around with the challenges - I have several that are in various stages of planning/completion, so I'm posting what I have completed right now!

This challenge from My Pink Stamper's NSD Challenges was to create something with a mother's day theme!  I made this card and I love it so much, I almost kept it for myself!!  :-)  I'm finding as I make more cards, the creative process is getting easier - I can think of an idea and create it without too much strain on my brain!  ;-)

I bought several new DCWV stacks and I'm in love with them all!  These papers are from 'The Green Stack' - they're so soft and pretty and the papers are made from 70% recycled paper!!  The ric-rac is from American Crafts and the sentiment stamp is from 'Our Mothers' by Pink By Design.'  I cut the flowers from the new Essentials Cricut cartridge that comes on the E2.  Then I used the negative of the flowers under the buttons, I love the way it looks!

NSD Challenge #2

For the 2nd National Scrapbooking Day challenge on My Pink Stamper, she asked that we make a masculine project using Kraft cardstock.  I made this baseball themed card for a little boy!
I cut the baseball and bat from the Boys Will Be Boys Cricut cartridge using cardstock from my stash, I distressed the edges of the Kraft cardstock base and diecuts using Tim Holtz 'Tea Dye' distress ink.  The plaid cardstock is from the DCWV 'All About Boys' paper stack and the twine is from The Twinery.  The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'Boy Crazy' set.

NSD Challenge #1

Last night, I started working on the National Scrapbook Day challenges that My Pink Stamper posted on Saturday, the first one was 'Anything Cupcake' so I made this card for my niece's birthday next month!  She wanted them to be completed in an hour and I doubted at first that I could do that, but they are averaging me about 45 minutes to complete!!
cupcake - Smiley Cards Cricut cartridge (with face removed using my Gypsy)
paper - DCWV Dots, Stripes and Plaids Stack and cardstock from my stash
ribbon - American Crafts
Crystal Stickles
i-rock and gems
sentiment stamp - Paper Company 'Happy Birthday' set
Cuttlebug with Sizzix 'Scallops' and Cuttlebug 'D'vine Swirl' embossing folders

Happy National Scrapbook Day!!

My blog has been very neglected lately due to my sick baby, he just can't seem to catch a break lately!  :-(  Luckily he's finally on the mend, so I can get back to crafting!!

My E2 arrived early :-), last Monday afternoon, so I used it to make a couple of things that I will get posted soon!  I believe something is wrong with it though, because it doesn't seem to be cutting very well - but I need to do some more investigating to see if I can figure out the issue.  I hope its nothing serious and is user error vs machine issues, I would hate to have to send it in for a replacement...:-(

Today is National Scrapbook Day and unfortunately my husband is working today and with the boys, I can't do much crafting.  And even naptime is out since I work tonight, so I need to be napping as well.  :-(  My husband and our boys have some plans for me for Mother's Day tomorrow after I sleep for awhile, so depending on what those are, I hope to sneak in some crafting time tomorrow afternoon/evening!!  My Pink Stamper has a lot of challenges on her blog today that I want to participate in - she's giving away a Cricut Imagine that I would LOVE to win!!  Not to mention, I'm always up for a fun challenge!!

Erin at DCWV Diary has some fabulous giveaways on her blog in honor of National Scrapbook Day - so stop by there and check them out!

Happy Scrapping to you- hope you get some time in this weekend to enjoy crafting!  And Happy Mother's Day to all my fellow moms, I hope you get to spend some time with those you love!

Have a GREAT weekend!!
