First day of Preschool LO!

I made this LO for my son's first day of preschool pics.  I used both the title and subtitle from Locker Talk cart, the paper, brads and ribbon are all from a school LO kit that I had and the cardstock was from my stash.

I'm entering it into the following challenges!
Chatter Scene: School Time
Fantabulous Cricut: Challenge Me Monday #75 - Add a splash of yellow
You Had Me At Craft: Week 13 Made It Myself Mondays

Have a great night!

Crayon wreath

I made this wreath for my son's preschool teacher - I didn't get it done before Meet the Teacher night last night but his first day isn't until Tuesday, so I will get it wrapped up and we can take it along with her card, to her that morning!

My son's class is the Busy Bees, so I used the bee from the 9 Months Lite cart, the glue, scissors, and crayon are all from Locker Talk cart and I can't remember where I ended up finding the font!  The ribbon and paper was all in my stash, the hoops (6" and 8") I picked up from Michaels and the crayons I had in my school supply box!

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Chatter Scene: School Time
You Had Me At Craft:  Week 13 - Made It Myself Mondays

I first saw a similar wreath on Amber's blog - as soon as I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for my son's teacher to hang on her classroom door! Thanks so much Amber for the inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

My new blog design!

I have to thank my friend Chris for my beautiful new blog design - a few of my followers let me know they were having issues seeing my blog due to my last design, so Chris gave my blog a makeover and I LOVE it!!!

She is amazingly talented, in both scrapbooking and card making, but also blog design!  Please visit her blog Get Inspired With Chatterscene to see her paper projects as well as t-shirts, bracelets - she does it all!  And also, please get in contact with her via her blog if you need her to overhaul your blog as well!

She has a 400 follower giveaway going on - she's at 397 right now, so if you aren't a follower - you should become one and help her reach her goal, you won't be disappointed!  She's giving away a great book that we could all definitely use!

Chris also owns a fun messageboard, Chatter Scene, where we talk about everything from scrapbooking/card making (we love to enable each other!), to parenting, to the latest news and books - there's something for everyone!  There's a great group of women over there and we have a lot of fun, talking about anything and everything!  She has a School Time contest in the craft forum going on right now, so definitely check that out - great prizes to be won!

Thanks again to Chris for my amazing new blog design - it looks fantastic!  Go HERE to get in touch with her and give your own blog a facelift!  :-)

Have a great evening everyone, I'm off to try to come up with a design I'm happy with for my son's 1st birthday invite- its in 3 weeks and I have a mental block on how to do them, I haven't liked anything I've made so far - but the pressure is on now, I need to get them in the mail!

Fall Blog Hop!!

Welcome to the Fall Blog Hop with Circle Sisters!

You should be coming from the very talented DoodleDiva. If you've just happened to come across my blog, please check out each of these talented ladies' blogs. You will want to start at Kristen's blog for the beginning of the hop.

For my project, I made a Thanksgiving dinner hostess gift!  I made a pillow box from the CTMH Art Philosophy cart as well as a matching card/envelope.  I cut the box at 8", the border at 1.5" and the label at 2" - it was my first pillow box and so fun and easy to make!  And its a great size, will be perfect to fill up with chocolate!  :-)  Both stamps from the box and card front are from CTMH 'Jubilation' set and the inside sentiment is from My Pink Stamper 'Happiest Moments'.  All the paper is from my stash, though I wish I knew what brand it was so I could get more - I love it!

Your next stop is Lisa - thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop!

Fall Blog Hop tomorrow!

I'm participating in a Fall blog hop tomorrow, so please check back to see all of our amazing fall projects - it starts HERE!  The evenings are starting to be cooler, so its going to be fall soon - YAY!!  Hope this hop will make you look forward to fall and inspire you to create some beautiful projects!

Baptism cards

My niece and nephew are being baptized this weekend, so I made them each a card to go with their gifts.  I was having a hard time figuring out how to make them with having limited religious diecuts on my carts - so I decided to go with fun colors and a simple cross.

The paper was all from my stash, the crosses from Indie Art Solutions cart and inked with pewter ink, the card bases/envelopes from Art Philosophy and the inside sentiment from My Pink Stamper 'Happiest Moments.'  I got my twine order from The Twinery yesterday :-), so I used it on both cards!

I couldn't get this card to stand up to take pics, so I had to hold it - please excuse my hand!  I need to get something to hold my cards when I take pics but keep forgetting to look for something!

There's still time to enter my friend Chris' 400 follower giveaway at her blog Get Inspired with Chatterscene as well as her Back to School challenge on her messageboard Chatter Scene!

Have a great weekend! Its going to be a busy one here but I have so much to get done, so I hope to be spending a lot of it in my scrap room!

Ladybugs everywhere!!

I made these thank you cards for a friend - she needs them for her daughter's first birthday, which is ladybug themed!  The ladybug is from Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons cart (I left out the middle layer) and the card base is from Wild Card cart.  The cardstock I got at Hobby Lobby and I used a stamp from the dollar bins at Michaels to make the polka dots!

I gave a sneak peek on here a couple of weeks ago when I started making them, but for these, the sentiment is on the inside and I made it using a stamps from My Pink Stamper set 'Buggy Punnies' and one from CTMH 'Thank You' - I wasn't sure it would look ok with the 2 differnt fonts but I love the way it turned out!

She needed 24 total, they were time consuming but I do love the way they turned out and she was so happy with them, so it was worth it!

The envelope was also from Wild Card cart, then I stamped a small flower in the corner - I wish I had a ladybug stamp but didn't, so figured a flower would work!

I'm entering these into You Had Me At Craft: Week 12: Made It Myself Mondays!
Thanks for stopping by!

My Teacher

My son starts preschool in 2 weeks, so I made his teacher a card last night, that he can "sign" to tell her how excited he is for the start of the new year!  I'm also making her a gift to go with it, that I'm hoping to finish up this weekend - so you will be seeing that soon!

I love using primary colors when it comes to school cards/LOs, all the paper for this card were from my stash!  I used Locker Talk for the 'My Teacher' sign and CTMH Art Philosophy for the card base and front/inside layers - I LOVE this cart!  I embossed the front layer with my Cuttlebug using the Cuttlebug embossing folder 'Traffic Jam.'  I wanted to add some twine but I didn't have the right color - it will be here soon though, with the order I placed for their newest colors that I couldn't resist over the weekend!  :-)

And when I went to make an envelope to go with it, I realized that even though I have my 12x24 mat to make bigger envelopes, I don't have any 12x24 cardstock - oops!  So I will add that to my list of things to get so I can get an envelope made soon for this card!  I had intended to stamp the inside of the card and the envelope with a small apple but I didn't have one - so I will either cut one with my cricut or see if I can get lucky and find an apple stamp in the dollar bin at Michael's!

I left the inside blank so we could write a message to his teacher and he could sign it!

I'm entering these challenges...
Chatter Scene: School Time challenge
Cricut 360º:  Challenge #8 - Back to School
You Had Me At Craft: Week 12: Made It Myself Mondays

Thanks for stopping by!  And don't forget to visit my friend Chris' blog for her 400 follower giveaway - she's giving away a great book!

Happy 1st Birthday - take two!

My sister has twins, a boy and a girl, who will turn 1 in October - I made his card last week and made hers on Sunday night!
I used two of my new carts - Baby Steps (cupcake) and CTMH Art Philosophy (card base and inside/outside layers).  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper 'Sweet Baby' set.  The paper is all from my stash and the ribbon is from American Crafts.

The inside sentiment is from Hero Arts 'Cupcake' set.

I cut the flower twice to give it more dimension and adhered the top one with pop dots!

I stamped a cupcake on the envelope (also cut from CTMH Art Philosophy) from the same set as the inside sentiment Hero Arts 'Cupcake.'

I'm entering this card into some challenges...
Fantabulous Cricut:  Challenge #74 - Birthday Bash

Don't forget about my friend Chris' 400 follower givaway on her blog and her School Time Challenge on her messageboard Chatter Scene - great prizes to be won on both!

Have the Happiest Birthday! cake card

I made this card for my Aunt's birthday next week!  I found this pretty print paper in my stash and wanted to use it!  I'm really challenging myself to use more of the patterned paper I have in my stash - I have so much of it but keep buying more, so for awhile I'm going to try to use some up and see if I can make a dent in it!
I didn't use my Gypsy at all on this one since I wanted to use the carts that are preloaded on my E2, that was a challenge after using it so much lately! I used Just a Note for the cake and Cricut Essentials for the frame.  All the paper and ribbon was from my stash and the sentiment stamp from My Pink Stamper's 'Fabulous Phrases' set.

I want to start decorating the insides of my cards more as well as the envelopes - I usually forget but really do love the way it looks!
I used a sentiment stamp and a cute little cake stamp from Hero Arts 'Birthday Messages' set, I thought it matched the cake on the front perfectly!

I'm entering this into a couple of challenges...

Horsin' Around 1st Birthday card

My nephew turns 1 in October, so I made this birthday card for him!  I just got B is for Boy when my friend Sarah found it at her Wal-Mart for $20 (I LOVE bargains!) and I love this hobby horse, so I wanted to use it for his card!
The '1' and curved tag are from Robotz and the other tag is from Gypsy Wanderings.  Both sentiment stamps are from My Pink Stamper ('Boy Crazy' & Everyday Occasions) and the paper and brads are all from my stash.

'Snappy Birthday' alligator card

I had my brother's birthday card made and ready to go for his birthday on Wednesday, until he told me about the trip his friends are taking him on for his 30th birthday, so I decided to make another one more tailored to his birthday this year - let's just say it represents a little hunting trip they are all going on next month...
I used Animal Kingdom for the alligator, Create a Critter for the birthday hat, and Gypsy Wanderings for the tag.  The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper 'More Punny-licious', I used the Tiny Mosaic Cuttlebug embossing folder to give the alligator his texture and I used 2 layers of ripped paper to make it look like he's in the water!  All the paper was from my stash!

Knowing my brother, he'll get a kick out of this card!  I guess you only turn 30 once, so he might as well do something he's never done before that I'm sure he will enjoy, being quite the country boy!

I'm entering this in My Pink Stamper's Pinkalicious blog hop challenge - it was to make a project showing your style!  This card shows my style most of all because I made it specifically for my brother - I love making my cards completely personal to the person I'm giving it to - I think it makes them more special!  Also, it has my favorite colors - green and blue!  Green has always been my favorite color and now that I have 2 little boys, I love the green/blue combo!  And lastly, I'm a sucker for pun cards, so My Pink Stamper stamps are perfect - my husband just rolls his eyes every time I make one, but I know he secretly loves them too!  :-)

Have a great night, I'm off to bed!  I had planned to be in bed by 10p tonight since I haven't gotten much sleep lately but once again, that didn't happen, so I'll shoot for 11:30p instead!  :-)

And I couldn't be more excited!!  I'm volunteering to be a Teacher's Assistant for 4 hrs, I'm going to take a 3 hr class the night before about different scrapbooking techniques and a 1 hr class after my volunteer time about making 15 minute pages - I'm so behind on the boys' scrapbooks that I need this class!  I get a 50% off coupon for a class for volunteering (among a bunch of other goodies!) so I'm hoping there is still a good card making class that I can take!

Here are the classes I'm going to take...

And your creating doesn’t have to end with the class – you’ll receive a must-have paper line (includes paper, coordinating alphabet and cardstock stickers) with plenty of product left over to use when you get home. With a little organization and an amazing, complete kit to start with, 15 minute pages are a cinch!

I made it to 100 followers over the weekend, actually I'm at 103 now!!  :-)  Thanks SO much for all your help in spreading the word about my challenge and giveaway and as promised, I will have a second giveaway along with the Preserves cart!!  I've picked up a paper pad so far, one of my favorites, and plan to keep my eye out for something to go with it!

I'm so excited about the entries so far, everything looks awesome - I hope we get a lot more before the challenge ends on the 18th, so keep spreading  the word!  And if you're new to my blog, go here for all the details about my challenge/giveaway!!

I need to get busy on my youngest's 1st birthday invitations - he will be one next month (WHERE did the last year go?!) and I can't make up my mind about what to do for his party invites/decorations and I'm quickly running out of time!!  So you'll be seeing those soon as well as another project I've been working on!

Thanks everyone for all your kind words and support, I love reading all of your sweet comments!

Ice cream friend card

**Go here for my 100 follower challenge/giveaway!!**

I was able to sneak down into my scrap room for awhile yesterday during naptime, I was having crafting withdrawals!  I picked the colors based on the cute plaid paper I found in my stash, I love it when I find fun paper without leaving my house!  :-)

I used Smiley Cards cricut cart on my Gypsy to cut the ice cream cone.  I used My Pink Stamper's Fabulous Phrases for the sentiment stamp, I love that it goes all the way across the card!  All the paper I used is from my stash and the card base is from DCWV!  You can't see it very well in the picture but one of the lines is lime green and I tried to pull that color out using the lime green ribbon - it looks much better in person!  I used the Argyle Sizzix embossing folder to give the ice cream cone some texture.
I'm entering this card into the Cricut 360º challenge for this week, to create a project with the theme 'Refresh Yourself' and to me, in the awful heat this summer (or really anytime of the year!) - ice cream refreshes me!!  :-)

I'm also entering this into the challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut, to create a project for a friend!

Hope you have a great Sunday, thanks for stopping by!

Couple of cupcake birthday cards

I made a couple of birthday cards yesterday, one for my aunt and a second for my card stash - very similar using the same paper but different - how's that for a description!!  :-)

I used Doodlecharms for the cupcake, its been awhile since I used that cart so it was fun to have it out again though I don't really like how the layers are on it, so I did it the way I wanted to and used the hide contour feature on my Gypsy so I didn't have to cut a bunch of unnecessary pieces and waste paper!  All the paper except the card bases and light purple solid card stock (they are from DCWV) is from Cosmo Cricket 'DeLovely' stack.  The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts 'Birthday Messages' set.  I used my i rock to put the sprinkles on the cupcakes and my Fiskars Corner Rounder punch on the second card.

I'm entering these into the Cakes and Cupcakes Birthday cards challenge this week at the Birthday Sundaes blog

I'm also entering them into the Made it Myself Mondays weekly linking party at You Had Me At Craft.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Little ears, little nose, little fingers, little toes...

**Go here for my 100 follower challenge/giveaway!!**

I made this baby card for a friend's baby shower - I love the way it turned out!  I used my DCWV 'Baby Boy' stack for all the paper, except the clouds -they were plain white cardstock that I inked the edges on.  The plane, clouds and banner were cut from New Arrival Cricut cart.  I used my Sew Easy to stitch around the edges.  The sentiment stamps were all from My Pink Stamper 'Sweet Baby' set!

I'm entering this in the Cricut 360º Challenge #5 - Transportation.  I saw this plane when I was looking for baby diecuts and thought it was perfect for the challenge as well as highlighting the sentiment stamp I wanted to use, using the banner!

I'm also entering it into the Made it Myself Mondays weekly linking party at You Had Me At Craft.

Have a great day!
